The city offers a variety of options to enjoy the weekend without being “bankrupt”. From a day at the beach to a walk surrounded by art and design at no cost

It all starts by leaving home: if you have a destination already chosen, with the Miami-Dade Transit mobile application (free) you can know how the traffic is in real time and have other optional routes, in addition to means of transport. With your cell phone you can also download Miami Transport Map.
An option in case you have not yet decided what to do is Miami City Guide from TripAdvisor, a useful tool to know sites, attractions and restaurants (of all prices) for an unplanned weekend outing.
For the young public who wants to enjoy the beach but also the hustle and bustle, the place is South Beach. A meeting place with tourists from all over the world who enjoy the bars and food places in the area.
Another alternative is Miami Beach Central for strolling, running and skating thanks to the pedestrian promenade that runs from 21st to 46th Street. You can also enjoy a walk and visit places such as the historic hotel Fontainebleau. This beach tends to be quieter and less crowded than South Beach.
Key Biscayne guarantees absolute pleasure with its white sand, but it is also perfect for a lunch or dinner with an incredible view. At the tip of the island is the most remote beach, Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, where you can fish and enjoy the historic lighthouse. Another more family-friendly option is Crandon Park Beach, with five miles of beach with grills available for those who choose to eat with the ocean breeze on a day outdoors.
THE COLORFUL MURALS PAINTED ON THE WALLS ARE NOT TO BE MISSED
Another plan is to tour the free Art Walks events, presented in different areas. You can enjoy all kinds of art, from avant-garde, urban and even contemporary.
The emerging Wynwood Arts District is a must-see. If you’re not in town during Wynwood’s Art Walk event, with galleries and shops that open late, you can go there any other day of the week to explore a thoroughfare art museum with Countless cafes, restaurants and bars of great design.
Art Basel Miami Beach is a must-stop on the cultural calendar, as is theWolfsonian Museum, located in the Art Deco District, free every Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Meanwhile, at the Pérez Art Museum Miami admission is free every second Saturday of the month and at the
Museum of Contemporary Art
(MOCA) the free ticket is for members, residents and children under 12 years old.
If the outing is with children there are also options for an entertaining day without spending too much. The Miami Children’s Museum is an enriching experience with bilingual activities. Free on the third Friday of the month from 3 to 9 p.m.

Miami, like New York , is surrounded by multicultural neighborhoods

It is impossible not to want to portray street art in the streets of Wynwood or have a coffee in one of the many places that surprise with their avant-garde and style. Another recommended place is the Design District with decoration showrooms, art galleries, fashion boutiques and some of the best restaurants in the city. Another must-see is Little Havana, a neighborhood with music in the street and dishes with an irresistible Cuban flavor for both locals and visitors.
