Miami is now the busiest international airport in the entire United States. Between January and June 2021, there were more international passengers at Miami International Airport than any other U.S. airport, according to Chris Mangos, the airport’s director of marketing. International demand is returning faster to Miami than to other markets, Mangos told The Miami Herald.
Until this year, MIA ranked as the third busiest international airport, behind JFK and LAX. For the full year ending March 2019, MIA had 20.6 million international passengers, compared to 33.6 million at JFK and 22.7 million at LAX. FLL is also in the top 10 busiest airports in the United States for international passengers.
