One of the very young businessmen who is giving more to talk about in Miami is José Acosta, a beautiful Canarian almost recently arrived in Miami that, in less than a year, has managed to set up a super successful tailoring and shoe company, handmade in Spain and Italy, which bears its name, offers image consulting, opened last May and has nothing to envy to brands of the likes of Berluti, for example, one of the great men’s fashion houses of the ultra-luxury consortium LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Henessy). Located in a suite facing the sea of one of the luxurious towers of Brickell, the elegant atelier seems to be taken from an English decoration magazine, with abundant and valuable pieces of antique dealers, brushstrokes of art and a distinctly European spirit.

Jose came to Miami for the first time on vacation in April 2014 with his wife, Patzy Espert, and their little Candela, and, as he told in a recent party offered at the Spanish Cultural Center, he was absolutely captivated by our city for its climate, its light, its pure air, its cosmopolitan mix and, perhaps, that sea that surrounds everything and that reminded him so much of his native Tenerife, one of the seven Spanish Canary Islands. After having lived 10 years in Beijing, breathing daily the extreme pollution of that city (which is the capital of the emerging country with greater development), Miami He caught them completely and in less than a year, they were already installed here and even with their company open in one of the most exclusive and bustling neighborhoods of the city.

Young, charming, big-hearted and beautiful, the couple is quickly making their way into the city. Both have been professional models: he, from 2003 to 2012 in countries such as Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, France and China and for firms such as Armani, Pierre Cardin, Ermenegildo Zegna, D & G, Ferragamo, etc; Patzy has walked for years at Milan Fashion Week, in Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai and Beijing and has since been a stylist for different brands, including that of her husband, José Acosta. Valencian by birth and member of a family dedicated to the footwear industry, she has also developed her own line of children’s footwear, Candela’s.

As if all this were not enough, both share a generous philanthropic heart, and have involved their respective firms from the beginning to some charitable cause. His, in particular, through his own organization One Suit Many Lives, which asks its clients to donate suits they no longer wear and distributes them to people who cannot afford one and need it to get or start a new job. A beautiful example for this society! This fall, José Acosta will officially present his first collection in Miami. I inform you!
