Wherever you go, Florida Man may be lurking, but he has apparently stayed away from Weston.

According to a report from the SafeHome.com Safety Systems Review site, the city’s tributary in western Broward County is the third safest city in the entire country.

Only Greenwich, Conn., and Parsippany, N.J., ranked higher than Weston.

To generate each city’s score, the report considered crime data and demographic metrics from the FBI, including population density, population trends, unemployment rate, median income and education level. They are only considered cities with a population greater than 50,000.

“Job growth and high incomes abound here,” says Weston’s website, which lists with a population of just over 70,000. “Its family atmosphere and beautiful scenery along its border with the Everglades make it the best choice for families across the country.”

The study acknowledges that a city’s collective wealth generally correlates with higher scores.

“As with most other cities that rank as the safest in their state, Weston has a high median income of $93,553 per household,” he said. “Therefore, people are well taken care of and the tendency to crime is minimal.”

Weston was the only city in Florida to make it to the top 50. And the city is no stranger to these types of lists. In 2016, Weston was No. 8 on Money magazine’s list of “The 10 Best Places to Live in America.”

North Port, in Sarasota County, ranked 92nd nationally, and Port St. Lucie ranked number 100.

Florida’s 10 safest cities also include Margate, Cape Coral, Wellington, Coral Springs, Jupiter, Coconut Creek and Port Orange.
