Miami is preparing to host what will be the largest shopping center in the United States. The real estate group Triple Five Group wants to beat its own record and, after building the largest complex in the country in Minnesota (called Mall of America), intends to repeat the move in Miami. The company plans to invest $4 billion in this project.
Called American Dream Miami, the new Triple Five Group shopping center will be built on an area of about 800,000 square meters, according to the Miami Herald. The center will have restaurant areas, shopping areas, hotels and a skating rink, among other spaces.
At the end of last March, Miami-Dade County approved the purchase for 19.6 million dollars of the land in which American Dream will be built to the state of Florida. The county plans to purchase the land from the state of Florida before selling it to Triple Five Group.
Miami is becoming a hot spot for retail in the United States. In mid-April, for example, Blackstones announced a $600 million loan for the construction of a luxury shopping center in Miami. The project began in 2011, when the Dacra company sealed an agreement with L Real Estate, a fund sponsored by the luxury giant LVMH, to give life to the Design District Associates.
