From its crystal clear waters to urban enclaves, Miami is experiencing a cultural renaissance like never before. The climate and the diversity that is breathed in every corner, make this city the perfect setting to celebrate all kinds of events. And that’s why parties in Miami have become a must for tourists and residents.

With the resurgence of multiple art galleries, designer boutiques and an international gastronomic offering, this metropolis has proven to be more than a beach and nightlife destination. So if you’re looking for what to do in Miami on your next visit, check out the extensive annual schedule it offers.

While the cultural scene here is relatively young, the city already has iconic destinations like Art Basel Miami, the Miami Open, the Miami Boat Show and the Coral Castle. And while the list is endless, here are five other once-in-a-lifetime events:

1. Art Deco Weekend

Next edition: January 14-16, 2022

This artistic movement is typical of the architectural landscape of Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue, in Miami Beach. It all started in 1976 when this meeting was designed to attract more tourists when it was not yet a popular destination. Now it remains as a tribute to the more than 800 buildings that make up the Art Deco scene of this place.

Between tours, conferences, entertainment shows, swing and jazz classes, the three days of this event take place. In 2021, for the first time, it was held virtually, with the slogan “There’s no place like home”. In this way, one of the parties in Miami crossed borders and had greater coverage in the country.

2. Miami Marathon and Half Marathon

Next edition: February 6, 2022

Each year about 25 thousand athletes from all states and more than 80 countries meet. Thanks to its warm climate, Miami has become a mandatory stop for international runners. This is a circular circuit that runs through Miami Beach, Coconut Grove, Downtown Miami, among other emblematic places.

For spectators, both locals and visitors, it is one of the parties in Miami not to be missed. But this is also an event for children. Kids Run Miami promotes a program with schools for children to train for weeks and make their official race in the same circuit as the professionals.

3. South Beach Wine and Food Festival

Next edition: May 20-23, 2021

Since 2002, it is one of the parties in Miami that all foodies in the country want to attend. As usual, celebrity chefs, wine and spirits producers and personalities from this industry gather here. Between tastings, cooking demonstrations, exclusive parties and celebrity-designed menus, there are events for the whole family.

Also, ticket prices vary. From $35 shows to unique $500 culinary experiences. But all the money collected goes to Florida International University’s School of Hotel and Tourism Management.

Calle Ocho Music Festival

Next edition: March 2021 (TBC)

It is the largest Latin music festival in the country and one of the flagship events of Miami Carnival. It takes place throughout Little Havana, where Calle Ocho is filled with musical stages, international food and dance shows. Artists such as Maluma, Nicky Jam and Pitbull had their international debut here.

But one of the most popular parties in Miami is also held for a good cause. The funds go to causes such as extending internet access to certain communities and funding college scholarships, sports teams and school supplies.

Miami Fashion Week

Next edition: May- June 2021

It is one of the parties in Miami that brings together influencers, celebrities and lovers of haute couture. And although it began as a platform for Latin American and Caribbean fashion, it now exhibits the creations of national and international designers.

The charity gala, hosted by honorary president Antonio Banderas, is one of the most glamorous events of the week. Their program includes guest performances and a silent auction that runs throughout the night. The favored institutions are the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Tears and Favors Foundation. The latter created by Banderas himself. And this is how the parties in Miami will allow you to live unique experiences every time you visit this city. No matter the time of year, something is always happening in their cultural spaces. Undoubtedly, it is a center of art, gastronomy, music and fashion that attracts the eyes of the whole world.
